Project First Rate is a nonprofit labor-management organization, meaning both workers and businesses come together at the same table to work on things together. In the union construction industry, a productive working relationship between both sides is critical to the success of any project.
PFR was created by leaders from labor and management that understood that their interests and values aligned more often than not, and there should be a formal entity to put these values into practice. Our board leadership draws from leaders of our region’s trade unions and contractor organizations and together, we represent over 15,000 tradespeople and hundreds of local contractors.
This collaborative work extends beyond the PFR office, and includes the shared oversight and administration of apprenticeship programs, industry funds, safety policies, and community service projects.
